The fall music season kicks off on Wednesday, September 2. If you are interested in participating in one or more of our ensembles, or if you have a vocal or instrumental gift you’d like to share in a different way, please reach out to Phil Slane, Director of Music Ministry, at phil@masonfirst.org.
Chancel Choir: Our Chancel Choir is our handbell choir, and while all are welcome, it would be more difficult for someone to participate without some existing music reading sklls. The Chancel Ringers rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and usually perform once a month throughout the program year.
Chancel Ringers: Our handbell choir is for the more advanced musician who has music reading skills. Currently all positions are filled. However we are regularly in need of subs. If you would like to be on our regular sub list, please contact Ruben for more information. The Chancel Ringers rehearse Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m., September-May.
Soul Purpose: Soul Purpose is a smaller ensemble that focuses on more contemporary music, like pop and musical theater, making connections between traditionally secular music and our faith values and beliefs. Soul Purpose rehearses on Sunday at 11:00am, shortly after the morning service concludes, and usually performs at least once a month throughout the program year. Opportunities are available for both singers and instrumentalists.
Children's Music Minisistry: We’ve had a number of parents proactively reach out to us this summer about Music Ministry programming for children and youth. As we work to put together plans to implement new programming this fall, we’d love to hear from you if someone in your family is interested! Please reach out to Phil Slane at phil@masonfirst.org to let him know the ages of those interested and the days and times that they would be available to participate starting in September.
We’d love to connect with you!
Whether you’re new here, have a prayer request, or simply want to learn more about our community, we’re here for you.
