Serving Others

A Season of Blessings

A Season of Blessings is a series of events designed to help others. Held each Sunday during Lent following coffee hour, this is an opportunity to make a difference, making items in need or items of appreciation for those important to this community. Donations benefit The Mason Food Bank, New Hope Pet Rescue, local unhoused families in Mason and Leslie, and the residents of Green Acres and Jefferson Square.

Look for more information in February and March!

Christmas Giving

FUMC and the Mission Team bring Christmas to families in need through White Christmas gift giving. Working with Mason Public Schools and Mason Community Services, we help bring a merry Christmas to dozens of local children.

Noi$y Bucket

Mason First UMC is recognized as being an “Engage Mi” Congregation by supporting mission projects at home, in our district, state, country, and globally. We give generously to disaster relief and provide support to missionaries, all while providing active, hands-on and financial support to missions right here in Mason. Help us help others by dropping your loose change (or bills) in the Noisy Buckets on Sunday morning.

Take what you need leave what you can pantry

Tiny Pantry

Many in our community experience food insecurity. Our tiny pantry, located in the Circle Drive on Ash St., sees a lot of visitors. Protein items that can be opened and eaten are the most popular, such as beans, tuna fish, salmon, ravioli, spaghetti, and chili. Diapers and infant formula are also popular.

Though we fill it every day, we always welcome donations. If the pantry is full, feel free to bring some inside during office hours. You can also donate funds to the pantry in your weekly giving. This is just one more way that MFUMC is giving back to Mason!

Emergency Operation Center

When the City of Mason experiences bad weather in which people are without power, we work with the City of Mason to open the building as an Emergency Operation Center (EOC) as needed. Those in need may come to keep warm or cool (depending on the season), charge phones, and shower.

If we open to the public, we will let you know via our Facebook page, Mason First United Methodist Church.

Meals On Wheels

FUMC serves as a drop-off and pick-up location for Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels offers several meal program options. Each of these options offers healthy, well balanced, flavorful meals that provide 1/3 of the daily nutritional needs of older adults. If you know of someone in need of meals or you would like to volunteer, visit the Tri-County Office on Aging at the link below.
